Of course I know you. I have known you since a long ways back.
What is it you are calling me out on? If you shaved your head, it hardly has anything to do with me. (I always preferred your natural hair, but it was pretty when you dyed it that scary Tori Amos-esque red, too. It almost matched.)
We all go through those cathartic moments, and sometimes they hang with you for quite some time. Remember that all things are impermanent, even your thoughts and feelings. Know who you are, and adjust to your surroundings. Those that fail to adapt, fail to survive. We each knew a few of those people, and nobody wants to wind up like that.
Mistakes are things you should learn from, not things you should mourn over...
I remain,
I like what anonymous said, "know who you are." what can i say, it's really good advice.
i don't know you know you. i have had good email conversation with you about art but i can truly say reading your post i feel more empathy than sympathy. i think that's an important distinction, you know. i can nod unseen because part of me knows.
i keep two things in my pocket, two quotes and i'll share them if i don't come across as too pretentious.
the first i wrote to myself
"You acn give up and sleep. Go Hide. Or you can get through it. Whatever happens will happen. the only thing that isn't constant in that equation is you. You have the power over what you do, what you choose to do. So get up. Get up. and Go."
The second is from Thomas Merton of whom I know little but the quote was given to me as a gift:
"If one reaches the point where understanding fails, this is not a tragedy: it is simply a reminder to stop thinking and start looking. Perhaps there is nothing to figure out after all: perhaps we only need to wake up."
Not to be all self helpy. It sounds that way but I am hardly the poster boy for that.
You just forget sometimes. That's all. Everyone does.
